Health Ministries Clinic and HMC Mobile Announce Plans for Sports Physicals in 2024

*For students under the age of 13, a parent must accompany them. For students aged 13 and older, parental presence is not required. However, it’s required for students in this age group to bring a completed consent form to the exam.

[NEWTON, February 20, 2024] — As part of our commitment to supporting the health and well-being of student athletes in the communities we serve, Health Ministries Clinic (HMC) is excited to announce we will be continuing our Sports Physical Events in 2024.  Please note that we will be doing this in two distinct ways. 

Free Sports Physicals During HMC Mobile Sports Physical Events

To help ensure access to everyone, HMC will be offering multiple opportunities for student-athletes to obtain a sports physical at no cost. We are currently working with various school districts to schedule designated events which will be occurring during school hours.  Detailed information about these school-based events will be provided in the coming months, so stay alert for communication from your district.  Because of the necessary coordination with each school to arrange for students to leave class for sports physicals, there will be NO walk-in sports physicals available during these specific events.

Additionally, there will be an opportunity for a community-wide free sports physical event coinciding with a back-to-school gathering in August. Keep an eye out for further details.

Sports Physicals Fees at Health Ministries Clinic or HMC Mobile Not During a Dedicated Sports Physical Event

For those unable to attend a HMC Mobile Sports Physical event, Health Ministries Clinic and HMC Mobile will continue to offer sports physicals, however, please note that outside of a dedicated event, there will be an associated cost for the sports physical.  The associated fee for the Sports Physical will not exceed $25 and patients who qualify for our sliding fee scale may be charged less. 

Please note that Sports Physicals are a limited exam and not intended to substitute for regular and routine care offered by your medical provider.
